Product Overview

Shannonvale Port Douglas Tropical North Queensland Australian Grown Premium Single Origin DARK CHOCOLATE 70% Cacao

Net 80g

Made in Mission Beach, Australia.

In Australia, cocoa only grows in a narrow coastal strip of Tropical North Queensland. This is the home of Charley’s!

This chocolate is hand crafted in Mission Beach Queensland, from cocoa beans grown near Port Douglas in Tropical North Queensland. The beans produce a dark chocolate with a superb creamy texture, rich flavour and nutty highlights.

The beans are carefully roasted at 120°C and then conched for over 50 hours to produce a dark chocolate that has an intensely creamy flavour with nutty highlights. This our most delicately flavoured ‘bean to bar’ dark chocolate.

Silver Medal winning chocolate. 2016 Australian Fine Food Awards.

    Shannonvale 70%

Coffee-cocoa together with a slight medicinal-mint edge. More rustic and simpler flavours than its Mt Edna and Kar Kar peers. Without bitterness also.

    This chocolates biggest problems

Posted by Julie Coleman on 31st Mar 2017

My biggest problem with this chocolate is it's taste, it puts the chocolate that I favoured in the past to shame. This chocolate is dangerous, it is so difficult to not take that extra square and before you know it you have most probably eaten too much. You just can't have an opened block in the fridge because every time you open the door it is there tempting you. The hard bit is placing an order because I always want to buy more than is healthy for me.
